We don't sell art.
We paint it.

Every canvas listed on this site is a painting that hasn't been made yet.

When you choose one, we paint it — by hand, on real canvas, with real brushstrokes you can feel when you run your thumb across the surface. Before it ships, we photograph it and send you the proof. You say yes. Then it's yours.

We've been doing this since 2018. Six thousand paintings. Over a thousand five-star reviews. And still, every time we send that preview photo, we hold our breath a little.

How this started.

It started with a question most people have asked themselves: why is it so hard to find a painting you actually want to live with?

Prints feel flat. Gallery prices feel absurd. The gap between a bare wall and a finished room shouldn't require an art degree, a second mortgage, or a trip to a trade show.

So we started painting. Abstract art — the kind that doesn't need explaining, that works because of colour and texture and the way light moves across a surface. We listed the first pieces on Etsy, offered to send preview photographs before shipping, and waited.

People said yes. Then they came back for second paintings. Then they told their friends. Then we stopped waiting.

We registered as The Gallery of Abstracts — TGOA LTD — and set up a proper studio in London. The process stayed the same: one canvas, one pair of hands, a photograph before it ships. The only thing that changed was how many people trusted us to get it right.

What 'hand-painted' actually means.

We use the word 'hand-painted' because it is true, not because it is marketing. Here is what happens after you choose a painting:

The canvas is stretched.

Premium cotton canvas over a solid wooden stretcher frame. The canvas is primed with gesso — a white base that gives the paint something to grip. This is the same preparation used in fine art studios worldwide.

The painting is built.

Layer by layer. Some areas are thick impasto — paint applied so heavily you can see the ridges from across the room. Other areas are thin washes where the canvas texture shows through. Palette knives, broad brushes, fine detail work.

Inspected.

Abstract art lives or dies in the details. Edges clean. Colours balanced. Texture consistent. Every painting is checked under natural light and studio light because the two reveal different things.

The proof photograph.

We photograph the finished painting in the studio — not a mock-up, not a render. The actual painting, showing every brushstroke, every impasto ridge, every colour shift. This is the photograph you approve.

It ships.

Corner protectors. Acid-free tissue. Double-boxed. Insured. Tracked. The packaging is not glamorous because it is functional — what matters is that your painting arrives in perfect condition.

20 sizes available From 24×24 inches to 72×48 inches. There is a size for every wall.

The studio.

We work from a studio in London. It is not tidy. There are paint traces on the edges of things, brushes in jars sorted by size, canvases leaning against every available wall. The floor has more colours on it than most of the paintings.

What it is, is organised. Every order has a workflow. Every canvas is tracked from stretching to shipping. The creativity is in the painting. Everything around it is disciplined, because that is how six thousand paintings arrive on time and in the condition we promised.

Natural light from high windows. Linseed oil in the air. Music on, usually. The smell of fresh gesso in the morning.

What we believe.

Art is for people who love looking at things.

Not for collectors. Not for investors. Not for people who read artist statements. For anyone who has ever stopped in front of a painting and felt something shift in their chest. That is enough qualification.

You should know exactly what you're getting.

The preview photograph exists because uncertainty is what stops people from buying art they love. We remove the uncertainty. You see it before we ship it. If it's not right, we fix it.

A painting should arrive ready to hang.

Not in a tube with instructions and a prayer. Stretched on a frame, or properly framed, with hardware attached. Your only job is to decide which wall.

The price should make sense.

Hand-painted original art starting from £71. We are not a gallery adding 50% for the privilege of walking through the door. We are a studio that makes paintings and sends them to people who want them.
